SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT UNDER REALISTIC CONDITIONS

An important part of FOGTEC’s research work are full-scale fire tests. FOGTEC’s fire test engineers have carried out fire tests in various countries including Germany, France, England, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Russia, USA, India, Malaysia, China, Japan and South Africa. Fire tests cover smaller applications such as for kitchen fryers up to large scale machinery spaces and tunnels with actual heat release rates up to 220 MW. Besides this, also small-scale fire tests in laboratories with e.g. single battery cells to analyse their off gases during a thermal runaway, are also conducted.
Tests are carried out in accordance with international standards and norms and follow specific requirements of individual projects. Often, tests are conducted under the supervision of independent third parties and certification bodies.
Due to FOGTEC’s involvement in numerous working groups for standards and guidelines, FOGTEC is a co-author of many official test protocols which are internationally applied.
