Research Project SUVEREN2use
Research Project SUVEREN2use (since the end of 2022)
Within the SUVEREN2use research project, fire protection solutions are being developed for all areas of the lithium-ion battery value chain.
These include:
- cell and battery production and storage
- integration into vehicles
- use in stationary energy storage systems
- recycling, remanufacturing for second-life applications and disposal
Furthermore, a battery-integrated extinguishing system is to be developed for use in large vehicles such as trucks, buses and trains as well as energy storage systems. The development of emergency concepts for batteries, electric vehicles and other large devices is another focus of the project.
Final Conference in Berlin
Presentation of the project results and their significance for practice and research
Extinguishing systems and emergency response plans for the safe handling of battery fires throughout the entire product life cycle
The project results and their significance for practice and research will be presented at the final conference. Among other things, reports will be given on large-scale fire tests carried out on the safe storage of batteries and the operation of energy storage systems. Suitable firefighting concepts will be presented.
The final conference will also offer experts in lithium-ion batteries and fire protection the opportunity to share their knowledge and discuss current issues.
Date: 23 April 2026
Time: 08:30 – 17:00
Location: Berlin (exact location to follow)
