Another order for FOGTEC in Brazil’s largest city
FOGTEC has been awarded the contract by CRRC Qingdao Sifang to supply the fire detection and high pressure water mist fire fighting system for the CPTM-Line 13 in Sao Paulo. The project is the first cooperation between FOGTEC and CRRC Qingdao Sifang, and also the first time FOGTEC high pressure water mist solutions are adopted by a Chinese vehicle manufacturer. The system is based on the FOGTEC 3000 Series, which is already applied in several trains throughout Brazil, with aspiration smoke detectors of 7000 Series. With this order, the number of coaches in Sao Paulo equipped by FOGTEC increases to more than 1,500. The first of the eight trains foreseen by the contract is expected to start service in the first half of the year 2019. This project constitutes a milestone for the cooperation between FOGTEC and CRRC group, and another important step forward into the Brazilian market.

FOGTEC receives the approval for the 5000 Series
After several years of development and high investments, the time had come during this year´s InnoTrans: Silvio Konrad, Managing Director of TÜV Nord Systems, handed over the certificate of SIL-approval for our new product line 5000 Series to the executive board of FOGTEC. Roger Dirksmeier, Managing Director of FOGTEC Rail Systems, pointed out the organizational structure measures necessary to meet the latest requirements during the development process. The new European standard EN 50657 regarding the programming of software for rail vehicles wasn´t considered in the original development plan, because it was first published during the development stage. Nonetheless, it could be completely adapted and integrated into the procedural landscape. Thereby, FOGTEC is currently the first and only supplier to the rail industry offering a completely proven fire protection system up to Safety Integrity Level 2.
Renewed IRIS-Certification
FOGTEC receives the certificate during InnoTrans
Since 2011, FOGTEC is the only manufacturer for fire protection solutions in the railway sector certified by IRIS. Yet again, FOGTEC received the certification based on the latest requirements, such as IRIS standard Rev. 03 and ISO/TS 22163. FOGTEC passed the audit without any “Corrective Action Points” and gained a considerably higher overall result compared to the previous certificate. Quality Manager Reiner Engels and Operations Manager Dr Olaf Kopitetzki received the renewed certificate from the hands of Bernhard Kaufmann, Managing Director of IRIS.
