Intelligent section valve for Tunnel in New York

FOGTEC's patented technology

FOGTEC’s full scale tested Water Mist System shall significantly improve the fire protection measures of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Most of the components of the retrofitted system are being installed into the narrow ventilation ducts above the road tunnels.

Thanks to FOGTEC’s intelligent section valve, the maintenance of this vital component can be carried out automatically via the tunnel control system. FOGTEC’s patented solution allows to service the valve without physical access and without spraying water at no costs. A regular maintenance increases the overall system availability with low Life Cycle Costs. The section valve has been developed for the use in tunnel applications and has a proven track record from various projects throughout the world.

The picture shows the first ventilation test carried out in 1954 with running engines. In case of excessive carbon monoxide values, all drivers and vehicles should have left the tunnel immediately. FOGTEC is proud to protect such a historical and vital part of New York’s infrastructure.

Cameron_House

Cameron House Hotel

Restoration of the historical building

The Cameron House is a 5-star luxury hotel located at Loch Lomond, Scotland. After a devastating fire in December 2018 the hotel will embark on a careful and sensitive restoration project which will involve the Cameron House hotel, the leisure club, the Great Scots bar and restaurant until spring 2021.

The entire building will be protected by a FOGTEC water mist system installed by our partner Compco Fire Systems. Again, the great advantage of the FOGTEC system is that it blends discreetly into the overall picture, thus preserving the historical ambience of the 300-year-old hotel.

H-Bahn-project

H-Bahn Shanghai

German monorail technology in China

As part of a technology transfer, the German H-Bahn system has been taken on by Chinese companies in order to develop it further and use it, among others, for the Baoshan project in Shanghai. One of the challenges of this vehicle type are the clearly limited escape possibilities from the vehicle in case of a fire event while driving.

To control this scenario, the company relies on FOGTEC water mist technology, which has already been used in many projects to compensate for potential risks. As has been proven in full scale fire tests, the use of FOGTEC technology minimizes the risk to passengers in case of fire on board. The fire is brought under control in the shortest possible time until the train reaches the next station or passengers can be evacuated in another way.
