FOGTEC protects Hugh L. Carey Tunnel

New York, USA

FOGTEC has been awarded to supply its technology to protect the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (also known as Brooklyn Battery Tunnel) connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York. A full scale fire tested water mist system shall improve the capacity of the ventilation system, protect tunnel users and increase the availability of the infrastructure. The system will be based on the most recent guidelines and norms. Thanks to low water application rates and small pipework, the system can easily be retrofitted into the confined space of the old road tunnel. Although the current situation throughout the world is very challenging, we are delighted to experience efficient project execution using modern communication tools along with all involved parties.

Modern and sustainable design in Hamburg

FOGTEC is proud to be part of another great project in Hamburg, Germany this year.  The American pavilion at EXPO 2015 in Milan will become the digital pavilion at the Hamburg Stadtdeich in 2020. With a unique design and sustainability concept according to the principles of urban mining, re- and upcycling, this future-oriented project will be realized. Besides a large gastronomical area, events like workshops, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, maker space and many more will take place there. FOGTEC has planned a high-pressure water mist firefighting system for the entire building and is currently in the installation phase. For this purpose, an electric high-pressure pump unit, OH section valves/area valves as well as automatic ceiling nozzles and a specific protection for the metal-constructions are implemented.

New Apple Data Centers in China

Fire protection for Asia´s largest data center

Apple´s first two data centers in China will be put into operation this year. One data center in the South and one in the North will provide more reliable iCloud services and increase the overall speed of Apple services in the Chinese market. The Guian Data Center in Southwest China is Apple´s third data center outside the United States and with an area of 106,000m2 the largest data center in Asia. Both projects include data buildings (also outdoor equipment areas), power supply buildings with diesel generators and diesel tank areas and use renewable energies as well. For the Ulanqab Data Center in North China, covering an area of 101,000m2, a 110kV transformer substation is also built. For both projects, FOGTEC is supplying a high pressure water mist system to protect transformer rooms, generator rooms, battery rooms and server rooms.
