New research project: SUVEREN
Funded by German Federal Ministry of Education and Research
With SUVEREN, dealing with the safety of New Energy Carrier (H2, CNG, batteries, e.g.) Vehicles, FOGTEC started another very interesting research project on the 1st of August 2017, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Together with Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und –prüfung BAM, STUVA e.V. as well as the Institute for Applied Fire Research IFAB, FOGTEC is developing scenarios, guidelines and a training programme for design companies, operators and owners of underground transportation facilities – satisfying our need for safety and taking into account new risks emerging from the latest energy carrier technology available in transportation.
New order for fire detection systems
China / Australia
The next generation of double deck trains to be supplied to Sydney based operator RailCorp will be manufactured in China by CRRC Changchun. This is an optional order for the so-called Waratah trains supplied a few years ago. FOGTEC supplied the fire detection system for the original order and has been awarded again to supply the system for the 24 new six-car trains. The system is based on FOGTEC´s fire detection System 7000 covering smoke aspiration technology including the requested interfaces to the train-management system and HMIs. FOGTEC also offers within its 7000 series a fully proven aspiration system in accordance to EN 45545-2.
